Set against the textured silence of small-town Punjab, Darpane Aham follows a newlywed couple as the bright optimism of their wedding gives way to the slow, suffocating weight of dowry, expectation and ego. The film looks at marriage not as ceremony but as the crucible where patriarchy reshapes and finally devours two ordinary lives.
